Hundreds march to commemorate the students killed in the Kruty battle

Nearly 1,000 activists and supporters of right-wing Svoboda nationalist party took part in the torchlight march in Kyiv commemorating the students killed during the battle of Kruty, one of the most tragic events in the history of Ukraine.

Some 300 students, cadets and high schoool students were killed during combat with the regular Red Army on January 29, 1918, to protect the new Ukraine’s People Republic against Bolshevik aggression.
