We’re in the plus! In February! Can you feel the warmth?

For the time in 139 years in Kyiv, the daily temperature on Sunday, Feb. 17, was +4.6 degrees Celsius, which is 0.1 degrees more than the previous temperature recorded in 1974. This is according to the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, which says such temperatures are more typical for spring, namely, for March 29.

But more good news is on the way (except for those who love sub-freezing temperatures and lots of snow).

On Wednesday, Feb. 20, the Ukrainian Weather Center thinks Kyiv might hit +6 degrees Celsius.

Let’s see what the iPhone says.

The iPhone weather app says Kyiv may hit a high of +7C before dropping back into sub-zero temperatures over the weekend and moving back into plus single digits next week.

It’s the best that anyone can hope for this far north.
