Michael Bleyzer, the founder of SigmaBleyer private equity fund, has other passions as well, including as an avid photographer for more than 20 years. His photo exhibition “Life Is Like A Rodeo” made its debut in the Museum of Kyiv History, 7 Bohdan Khmelnitsky St., on June 14. The 60-image exhibit will be on display through July 10. The exhibit is organized by Dar, a charitable foundation, with the support of Sigma Bleyzer. Proceeds from auctioned items will go to social, historical and art projects.

Bleyzer is a native of Ukraine’s second city, Kharkiv, a former Soviet Ukraine capital with more than 1 million people located 477 kilometers east of Kyiv.  He now makes his home in Houston, Texas, a state that hosts a lot of rodeos that pay homage to the American cowboy. Bleyzer arrived in America in 1978, starting a career in finance and management. He worked for Exxon oil giant and EY consultancy. He founded SigmaBleyzer in 1994. It currently manages significant investments in Ukrainian agriculture.

About rodeos, the museum writes: “The dynamism of this extreme sport is impressive, but a few seconds may seem like an eternity when you try to stay in the saddle. But the main thing here is to feel not only the excitement of cowboys and bullfighters, but the love of life, which is the main thing in the photos of the photographer because life is a rodeo.” More information about the exhibit and Bleyzer can be found here on the museum website in the Ukrainian language.
