Muslims in Ukraine celebrated the start of the Eid al-Adha holiday on Aug. 11, 2019, by gathering at their local mosque for the Kurban-Bayram, a day which marks the start of their sacred holiday, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice. The holiday honors the willingness to sacrifice in service to God and is marked by hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world.
