Kyiv's PinchukArtCentre opened up a new exhibition "LOSS" on May 20. It is dedicated to the victims of Babi Yar where thousands of jews were massacred during World War II.

The international art exhibit includes works done by artists such as Christian Boltanski, Berlin De Bruyckere and Jenny Holzer.

Throughout his work, Boltanksi points out how people forget about tragic historical events. Bruyckere and Holzer, in turn, remind their audience of how easy it is to lose one’s sense of humanity when faced with death.

The tragic event of Babi Yar took place 75 years ago at the ravine of Babi Yar where at least 100,000 Jews were killed over the course of 2 days by German Nazi forces. It became known as one of the first acts of mass killings during World War II.
