Orphaned children celebrated New Year’s and Christmas at the Premier Palace Hotel on Jan. 4 as part of a charity event called “Orphans are our children.” It was a real family celebration. The event saw adults and children affected by the war in the east ring in the new year together with orphaned children. The president of ICO Orphans Are Our Children Nataliia Uvarova said: ”Girls under 10 years old approached me to thank me for inviting them and said that before coming to the Premier Palace Hotel, they just read about fairy-tales, but now they feel like the heroes of a fairy-tale in their own lives. During the conversation, one girl cried and hugged me, saying that she has never felt so good in her life. Weeping, she asked for another minute to be hugged. We both shed tears of happiness, and holding hands, went onto the dance floor at the gorgeous Premier Palace Hotel.”
Deputy Head of Mission of the Kingdom of Spain Iago Gil Aguado, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Niniek Kun Naryatie, Ambassador of Pakistan in Ukraine Athar Abbas, First Secretary of the Embassy of Belarus Pankratenko Oleksii, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Malaysia Rina Hanis Rodzli, Head of the Egyptian Community in Ukraine Walid Atieh and the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Ihor Zhdanov addressed orphaned children with words of wisdom and encouragement at the event.
The entertainment program was provided by TV hosts Evgenii Smorygin and Yurii Tretiak, Santa and Snigurochka from Kompot Studio, singers Dasha Medova and Artur Bosso, as well as dancers from Solomaha family orphanage Ivanna and Arsenii, ballroom champions of Europe 2015 and Nadezhda and Ivan, Israeli ballroom dancing championship winners.
