Ukraine’s parliament decided at the session on Dec. 24 that lawmakers would not go home until they adopted the state budget for 2016, necessary for more vital funding from the International Monetary Fund.

During the day they passed series of bills that were presented by the Cabinet as the legislative package necessary for 2016 budget. They will discuss and hopefully vote for the budget during the night. While lawmakers were debating the crucial legislation, at least 500 activists held a rally near the Verkhovna Rada, protesting against the tax burden on the agriculture sector.
