Hundreds of people gathered at Maidan Nezalezhnosti to commemorate victims of EuroMaidan Revolution, mostly demonstrators killed by police snipers on Feb. 18-20, 2014.

Former activists, members of self-defense companies and ordinary citizens came to place flowers, light candles and sing while honoring heroes from Heavenly Hundred – the 100 people killed during the EuroMaidan Revolution that drove President Viktor Yanukovych from power two years ago.

A rally started at Instytutska Street, where most of Heavenly Hundred activists were killed from sniper’s bullets. With a bouquet of flowers, people went up the street, passing portraits and memorial of the killed activists.

Another group of former self-defense companies gathered in front of the monument to independence on the Maidan. They gave speeches, read poems and prayed.

Several persons lifted portraits of Heavenly Hundred activists and blocked the traffic at Khreshchatyk Street, making it a pedestrian zone as it was during the EuroMaidan Revolution.
