Protesters on April 21 attempted to storm Kyiv’s City Hall and engaged in scuffles with police.

The
protesters, who broke City Hall’s doors, also blocked traffic on Khreshchatyk,
Kyiv’s main street.

About 200
demonstrators were protesting against a ban on alcohol sales in kiosks and the
demolition of supposedly illegal kiosks by the city authorities.

The
police were supported by unidentified uniformed people colloquially known as “titushki.”
It was not clear who they were.
