Several thousand people, led by two left-wing political parties,  rallied to celebrate Labor Day on May 1 in Kyiv.

The followers of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), led by populist lawmaker Serhiy Kaplin, marched Khreshchatyk Street. At the same time, a separate rally of the Socialists Party, that is headed by ex-Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara, took place just a block away, in the Mariinsky Park near the Arch of Friendship of Peoples.

Both parties protested capitalism, oligarchs and demanded more social security for Ukrainian workers.
