On August 27 capital of Ukraine hosted a street workout championship and "Streetlifting - 2016" Kyiv Mayor's Cup.

More than 100 participants from 25 cities of Ukraine competed for the title of strongest athletes of the country near the Arch of Peoples Friendship in the street workout tournament.

Additionally, the participants had a chance to compete for the prize money which this year totalled Hr 75,000 ($2,950).

The organizer of the championship – Ukrainian public organization Street Workout Ukraine.

This event is massive because it is very affordable and any citizen of Ukraine can get to the stage for the competition. Why? Because everyone is able to pull up, most are able to do push-ups and many can perform simple or complex power elements on the bar, parallel bars, wall bars or on the floor. That is the difference and advantage of this trend,” said the head of the Street Workout Ukraine Denys Minin.
