Ukraine celebrated International Women's Day on March 8. The signs of the celebration were evident everywhere in Kyiv and flower vendors were having their most profitable day of the year.
Some used the holiday to showcase their feminist views. A group of activists wearing costumes and masks that resembled those of the famous Russian protest group Pussy Riot marched through the central streets protesting against discrimination of women, of which the March 8 holiday, in the opinion of the activists, is a proof.
