Third Yearly Ukrainian National Awards (YUNA), an annual national music reward ceremony, took place in Kyiv on March 25.
Each year the ceremony sums up the achievements of Ukraine’s musicians in the previous year.
Frontman of Okean Elzy rock band Svyatoslav Vakarchuk was victorious. He got several awards, including Best Band, Best Composer and Best Author. Vakarchuk himself couldn’t attend the ceremony as the band had a concert in Warsaw on the same night.
The Best Male Vocal award was won by Ivan Dorn, while Tina Karol was awarded as Best Female Vocal. Earlier Svitlana Loboda, Karol’s main competitor, refused to participate in the ceremony due to the critical situation that Ukraine is in now.
