The events of August 2014 – the invasion of Russian troops and signing of the Minsk Protocol led to the formation of the so-called demarcation line in the east of Ukraine. A conditional boundary that separated the warring sides for the time of the truce. On Feb. 12, 2015, as a result of the second Minsk negotiation, the configuration of this border was approved at the highest level.
