You're reading: Naftogaz pays Gazprom $867 million for September gas

Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy has transferred around $867 million to OJSC Gazprom as full settlement for gas delivered last month, the company's PR department told Interfax.

On a monthly basis, in timely fashion, and in full measure, the company is meeting its obligations to Gazprom in paying for natural gas, the company said.

Naftogaz Ukrainy imported $1.4 billion worth of gas in January of this year, $1.6 billion worth in February, $1.25 billion worth in March, $948 million worth in April, $950 million worth in May, $860 million worth in June, $477 million worth in July, and $487 million worth in August.

Naftogaz’s price for imported natural gas from Russia was $264 per thousand cubic meters in Q1 compared to $252 in Q4 of last year.

The price was $297 in Q2 and around $355 in Q3.

Naftogaz Ukrainy manages the country’s largest oil and gas production companies.

It holds the monopoly for transit and storage of natural gas in underground facilities as well as for pipeline transport of oil in the country.
