Simferopol, April 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The possibility of gathering an international forum on the problems of Crimean Tatars will be one of the key issues discussed during an all-Crimean mourning rally to mark the 62nd anniversary of the deportation of Crimean Tatars.

"As long as there are many unsolved problems [of Crimean Tatars], and considering the fact that the Ukrainian authorities are not eager to tackle these problems, in addition, we can’t see any opportunities… So we are going to stress the importance and necessity of the acceleration [of the actions] we discussed during a rally last year on May 18, and in particular, the organization of an international forum on the problems of the Crimean Tatars. This will be one of the key moments," said MP Mustafa Dzhemilev during a press conference in Simferopol.

In turn, First Deputy Chairman of Mejlis and President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars Refat Chubarov added: "I hope that as a result of our actions, Ukraine, other states and international institutions would understand that the Crimean Tatar problem is a problem that everyone should be involved in solving."

According to him, otherwise "due to other circumstances in this geopolitical area, it may be difficult to resolve these problems."

Chubarov added: "It seems to me that this year we did a lot in order for our potential partners to realize the importance of holding the international forum. Today Ukrainian politicians also have to understand this."

The mourning rally to mark the 62nd anniversary of the deportation of Crimean Tatars will take place on May 18 in Simferopol (Crimea).
