Brussels - Kyiv and Brussels have announced the completion of their negotiations on a deep and comprehensive free trade area, which is part of the proposed Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, European Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht has said.

"Today we have passed a milestone in our relations – we have completed negotiations on a free trade area," he said on Thursday during the debate in the European Parliament on the free trade area.

According to the commissioner, from now on the implementation of this agreement depends only on the political will of the Ukrainian leadership.

As reported, First Deputy Premier and Economic Development and Trade Minister Andriy Kliuyev is visiting Brussels on October 19-20, where a discussion of the issues related to the establishment of a free trade area between Ukraine and the EU is taking place.
