Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has approved the limit number of employees of the secretariat of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine - 180 employees.

The decree to that effect, dated April 6, has been posted on the official Web site of the head of state.

Yanukovych also approved the structure of the NSDC secretariat.

According to the document, the NSDC secretariat includes the NSDC secretary, his first deputy, two deputy secretaries, and the press secretary. In addition, this structure is also represented by the press service of the NSDC secretary, the department of state security and law enforcement agencies, the department of military security, the department of economic and social security, the department of foreign policy aspects of national security, the control office, and the organizational and technical office.

According to the decree, the NSDC secretariat also includes the personnel department, the legal department, the department of accounting and reporting, the department of ensuring access to public information and the regime-private sector.

The decree comes into force on the date of its publication.

Earlier, National Security and Defense Council Secretary Andriy Kliuyev said that it was necessary to increase the number of employees of the National Security and Defense Council, stressing that this will be done at the expense of other central executive government agencies. He said that 460 people worked at the NSDC in 2010, while the current number of employees is only 90.
