You're reading: Lithuania promises assistance on Ukraine’s path to EU membership

Lithuania is ready to provide assistance to Ukraine on its path to joining the European Union, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko in Kyiv on Thursday.

"I am ready to render as much assistance as you will need on your path to the EU," the Lithuanian president said.

She promised help in all areas – economic, political and humanitarian.

According to Grybauskaite, her country will help Ukraine as much as it can, at the level of president and government, and at the level of its people.
