Simferopol, December 10 (Interfax) - The Crimean Tatar Majlis and the Crimean branch of the People's Rukh of Ukraine held a rally on Lenin Square in central Simferopol on Dec. 10.

The rally was dedicated to the International Day of Human Rights. About 200 people took part in the rally. The rally was held under Crimean Tatar flags and posters reading, "Democracy in Ukraine Impossible without Restoring Rights of Crimean Tatars" and "Human Rights Can Be Ensured Only by Common Effort."

The rally demanded restoring rights of Crimean Tatars deported in the Soviet period and to ban the Communist Party, which, in their opinion, was guilty of the deportation.

The rally passed a resolution which recalled the deportation that killed over 46% of Crimean Tatars.

The rally said the Crimean Tatars would continue to demand unconditional fulfillment of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in Ukraine without any discrimination.
