You're reading: Police to detain Russian businessman Berezovsky if arrives in Ukraine

The ministry of interior affairs of Ukraine will detain Russian businessman Boris Berezovsky if he arrives in Ukraine, Yuri Lutsenko, the minister of interior affairs, has announced to the press.

"According to the international obligations we shall detain him right on the border of Ukraine," he said.

The minister added, the detention would be at request by the Russian interior ministry, as Berezovsky was put on the international wanted list.

Apart from this, Lutsenko says police is not checking sources of finance for the election campaign of President Victor Yushchenko and any other gerrymander in course of financing of the campaign, as the interior ministry received no kind of such reports.

As earlier reported, Berezovsky called on the Ukrainian business to support Yushchenko at the presidential election as a guarantor of debarment of property redistribution after the election.
