Ukrainian MP Vasyl Horbal of the Party of Regions has been appointed head of Lviv regional state administration.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed a relevant decree on April 20, the presidential press service reported.

Horbal, born in 1971, heads the Kyiv city branch of the Regions Party and is a co-owner and honorary president of Ukrgasbank.

From 1996 until 2002, he was first deputy board head, then board head of Intergazbank, which in 1997 was renamed Ukrgasbank. Since 2002, he has been honorary president of Ukrgasbank. From 2003 until 2005, and from 2007 until the present Horbal has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Ukraine.

He was elected to the parliament of fourth, fifth and sixth convocations.
