Poland will open a consulate general in Sevastopol in 2010, Consular Department Head of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv, Edvard Dobrovolsky, has said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.

"Ukraine is the country with the largest number of Polish consulates. No other country in the world has so many Polish consulates. I would like to stress that in spite of the crisis we’re not closing consulates in Ukraine, but opening new ones… This year we’ll open a new consulate in Sevastopol," he said.

In addition, this year a consulate of honor will be opened in Zhytomyr (a consulate without the right to issue visas).

At present Consulates General of Poland are situated in five cities of Ukraine: Lviv, Lutsk, Vinnytsia, Odesa, and Kharkiv. The Embassy of Poland in Ukraine and the Embassy of Poland in Kyiv (the department to assist in trade and investments), and the Consular Department of the Polish Embassy in Kyiv are located in the capital.
