Additional units of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry have been sent to flood-stricken Chernivtsi region from neighboring regions in order to prevent the looting of households.

The head of the state commission on tackling the aftermath of floods in Chernivtsi region, First Vice-Premier Andriy Kliuyev, said this on Tuesday, his press service reported.

He noted that the situation in the region was under control and "although weather conditions are expected to worsen, work is being conducted actively, and the commission hopes to do everything possible to prevent the worsening of the situation."
