Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has signed an order on the creation of an interagency working group on the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait."

The text of the order, No.1595-r of August 4, 2010, has been posted on the government’s government official Web site.

The document foresees the creation of the interagency working group on the construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait, while its head is granted the right to make changes in its composition and ordered to approve an action plan on the bridge’s construction.

Ukrainian Transport and Communications Minister Kostiantyn Yefymenko was appointed the head of the group, while Deputy Regional Development and Construction Minister Ihor Sokolov and Deputy Economy Minister Oleksandr Sukhomlyn were appointed his deputies. The group includes 20 people, in particular, Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Oleksiy Baranov, First Deputy Chairman of the Crimean Council of Ministers Pavlo Burlakov, Head of the State Administration of River and Sea Transport (UkrMorRichFlot) Serhiy Kryzhanivsky, Deputy Director General of the State Railways Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) Serhiy Mykhalchuk, and Deputy Head of the State Service of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Valeriy Faliush, and others.

As reported, on April 25, 2010, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev signed an agreement to build a bridge across the Kerch Strait.
