“Why not? My generation was brought up in the tradition of subotnyky. When the snow melted Kyiv turned into a very messy and dirty city. We should be ashamed of the way it looks now. Even the central streets, not talking about the residential districts, look like dumpsters.”

“People don’t like subotnyky because they are used to thinking of them as a waste of their private time. Therefore, subotnyky should be organized in a way that combines work and fun. For example, people can spend their morning cleaning a park and then go for a picnic together.”
