Obolonsky District Court in Kyiv has sentenced the former head of Lviv Administrative Court of Appeals, Ihor Zvarych, to ten years of imprisonment and confiscation of all property.
The court pronounced the sentence on Tuesday, according to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent.
In addition, Zvarych has been deprived of the right to hold any post in courts or to work in any executive position in government agencies for three years.
The second defendant in the case – Viacheslav Liubashevsky, who acted as an intermediary and handed money to the ex-judge – has been sentence for five years in prison with the confiscation of property and without the right to hold similar posts for two years.
As reported, Zvarych was charged with taking large bribes. The criminal case against him was opened in December 2008, and in March 2009, he was arrested. He has been in custody since that time.
