The BYT-Batkivschyna faction in parliament has expelled MP Natalia Korolevska from its ranks.

A source in the faction said on Wednesday that Korolevska had been expelled from the faction for refusing to vote on Tuesday for the inclusion in the agenda of the parliament’s session of a draft resolution on measures to implement the recommendations and requirements of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

The faction also made a warning to MP Yevhen Suslov, because he also did not vote for the inclusion of the issue in the agenda.

Interfax-Ukraine learned that Suslov later submitted a statement to quit the faction.

Earlier, the opposition has repeatedly called for the consideration in the Verkhovna Rada of the PACE resolution on Ukraine, which, in particular, contains the demand to release former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko from prison.
