BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko has initiated submission by Verkhovna Rada (parliament) and local council deputies of her bloc of new applications for membership of parliament and council factions, according to information placed on Tymoshenko's personal website.

"We have suggested this procedure of re-registration. Re-registration is when deputies of both Verkhovna Rada and, where necessary, local councils simply table new applications for faction membership, saying they are ready to work for Ukraine, including in the opposition," she told a press conference in Sumy.

Tymoshenko noted that those unwilling to re-register and work in oppositional faction may stay outside it.

As Ukrainian News reported, in March the BYuT faction in parliament declared its oppositional status.
