You're reading: Yatseniuk: Officials should be held personally accountable for ignoring the complaints of citizens

Leader of the Front for Change Party, Arseniy Yatseniuk, is proposing to provide citizens with additional guarantees for obtaining information in the case of their appealing against state and local authorities.

The party’s press service reported that the politician proposed to fine officials for violating the law "On Appeals by Citizens" and the corresponding Article of the law "On the Status of People’s Deputies of Ukraine."

Yatseniuk’s draft law "On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine (on additional guarantees for citizens obtaining information when appealing to state and local authorities)" No. 7015, was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on July 28.

The approval of the law will allow citizens of Ukraine to protect their rights and legal interests in full, to restore them in the case of violations, and to appeal against officials’ actions at court, reads the explanatory note about the law.
