NEW YORK – Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov has said he has no doubt that claims of Russia’s alleged meddling in the U.S. elections will fade away and Moscow and Washington will be able to work to normalize their relations.

“I am firmly convinced that, as journalists like to say, “radioactive dust” will subside, and we will eventually fulfill all of our plans for developing Russian-American relations,” he said at a youth forum in New York.

Russia, for its part, “would like to develop equal, pragmatic and mutually respectful relations with the U.S.,” Antonov said.

“The field for interaction is vast and rich. Everything depends only on the political will of our esteemed colleagues from the U.S.,” he said.
