You're reading: Antonov reports An-148 plane that crashed near Moscow had service life until 2020

A Russian An-148-100V plane that crashed in Moscow region on Feb.11 had a service life until 2020, and the aircraft was serviced by the Russian operator, the press service of the Antonov State Enterprise reported on Feb.12.

According to the report, the plane owned by Saratov Airlines was built on June 10, 2010 at OJSC Voronezh Aircraft-Building Joint-Stock Company.

“The aircraft had a valid service life until 2020. Maintenance was carried out by the operator, that is Saratov Airlines,” the report says.

“The investigation into the incident is carried out by a commission of the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC). If there is an official invitation, specialists from the Antonov State Enterprise are ready to take part in the investigation into this aviation accident and will take all possible measures to find out the causes of the accident,” the press service said.

“The Antonov State Enterprise expresses sincere condolences to the families and close people of those who died in the plane crash on February 11. We ask the media to refrain from spreading unverified information about the causes of the disaster before the completion of the official investigation,” reads the report.

On Feb.11, a Saratov Airlines aircraft en route to Orsk crashed in the Ramenskoye district of the Moscow region shortly after taking off from Domodedovo Airport. All 71 people on board were killed in the crash.
