Associated Press: Russian Bombardier worker charged with aggravated bribery

A mind-boggling 85 percent of surveyed company board members in Ukraine stated bribery practices are widespread in the country, according to the annual report on corporate graft released on May 7. The study was conducted across 36 countries worldwide and involved 3,459 respondents.

A Russian employee in the Swedish branch of Canadian plane and train maker Bombardier was charged August 18 with aggravated bribery and faces up to six years in jail and deportation if found guilty.

Swedish prosecutor Thomas Forsberg said Evgeny Pavlov bribed a public servant in Azerbaijan to win a contract for a new signaling system with a contract value of around $340 million.
