US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will demand, in a high-stakes visit to Moscow this week, that Russia abandon support for Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.
The challenge to Moscow comes as the US investigates whether Russia was complicit in the chemical-weapons attack on a north Syrian town that killed 87 people last week.
