You're reading: Five people missing in Kemerovo fire found alive

The police have found several people who were missing in the fire in the shopping mall Zimnyaya Vishnya in Kemerovo, the press service for the Russian Interior Ministry’s Main Directorate for the region said.

“The police have now found five of the 64 citizens who were earlier listed as missing, three minors, a young woman and a young man, during operational search activities. It turned out that they were not on the site of the tragedy,” the report said.

The police continue working in the area. They have encircled the territory of the mall and the school where an operative headquarters has been created, the report said.

According to earlier reports, the number of people hurt in the fire in the shopping mall Zimnyaya Vishnya in Kemerovo has reached 53.

Twelve people hurt in the fire remain hospitalized in Kemerovo and another 36 are being treated as outpatients.
