MOSCOW – The cause of death of Vladimir Yevdokimov, former Roscosmos’ senior executive who was found dead in a cell of a Moscow remand prison on Saturday, is criminal in nature, a source in law enforcement structures told Interfax.

“Two stab wounds to the chest were discovered on Yevdokimov’s body. They are presumably the cause of death,” the source said.

Yulia Ivanova, the spokesperson for the Russian Investigative Committee’s department for Moscow, in turn, confirmed to Interfax that a man, born in 1965, had died violently in the remand prison, but did not disclose his name.
