You're reading: Gazprom says Nord Stream 2 now 83% complete

MOSCOW – The Nord Stream 2 pipeline is now 83 percent complete, with 2,042 kilometers of its two branches built, Gazprom said.

“The construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline continues. A total of 2,042 kilometers has been laid along the bottom of the Baltic Sea – 83 percent of its total length,” the company said.

The pipeline will run more than 1,200 kilometers from the Slavyanskaya compressor station in the Leningrad region’s Kingisepp district to Germany’s Baltic shore. Its throughput capacity will be 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
