You're reading: Kremlin doesn’t see Trump’s conduct as ‘tough’ at meeting with Putin

The Kremlin is not inclined to think that U.S. President Donald Trump was ‘tough’ with Russian President Vladimir Putin at their first meeting during the G20 summit in Hamburg, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

“The [U.S.] president asked direct and blunt questions he was concerned about, to which he received quite exhaustive and confident answers from President Putin. I don’t see any evolution here,” Peskov told journalists in commenting on Trump’s remark that he was ‘very tough’ with Putin and answering whether the Kremlin saw some evolution in Trump’s statements regarding his meeting with Putin.
