MOSCOW. Nov 8 – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has rejected Western partners’ accusations of Russia being interested in freezing the conflict in Ukraine.

“Russia is interested  in the conflict near its borders being settled more than anyone else, even though you can hear allegations from time to time that we allegedly want to keep it in sub-frozen stage forever,” he said at the Potsdam meetings, organized by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, on Nov.8.

Such claims are “attempts to shift the blame,” Lavrov said.

The implementation of the Minsk agreements is still on the agenda, the minister said.

“All of us agree the full implementation of the Minsk accords, under which Kyiv assumed a concrete obligation to grant special status to Donbas, pass an amnesty law and hold local elections, still remains on the agenda,” Lavrov added.
