MOSCOW – Marine Le Pen, the leader of France’s National Front and a presidential candidate, says she is opposed to the sanctions imposed on Russia and will be seeking to get these blacklists lifted.

“I have always been in favor of lifting the sanctions, which I see as counterproductive. I believe that banning parliamentarians from communicating with each other and working together tramples upon democratic rights. I hope that France will manage and I will manage to make sure that we lift the ‘blacklists’, at least in France’s territory,” Le Pen said at a meeting with Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.
