The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) at a meeting on Tuesday decided not to discuss the report on the credentials of delegations at the current session and return it to the relevant committee, Ukrainian parliamentarians, members of the Verkhovna Rada delegation to the PACE have reported from Strasbourg.

“Russia will not receive any changes to the charter today. After a very heated dispute, the question was sent back to the committee. There are no votes for changing the statute at PACE! Back-benchers are with us!” parliamentarian Leonid Yemets wrote on Facebook after voting.

In turn, member of the Ukrainian delegation Heorhiy Lohvynsky also wrote on his Facebook page that “a report that Russia wanted to push through to PACE has been withdrawn from consideration! They were scared to put it to the vote and sent it back to the committee,” and also published a photo of electronic board with the results of the vote, according to which there were 99 affirmative votes, 79 delegates voted against, and 16 members abstained.
