MOSCOW – Work to reinstate the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) is proceeding in the normal mode, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Mutko said.

“Normal work is in progress. No one delays anything. There is a roadmap for reinstatement, it is being put into practice, the new supervisory board is being set up, and the efforts to find the director (of the RUSADA) are being taken. Regular contacts are being maintained with WADA,” Mutko told Interfax on Friday.

A report on the progress in reinstating the RUSADA will be presented at a WADA foundation board meeting on May 17-18, he said.

At the same time, when asked why the name of the RUSADA director general is unclear yet, Mutko said that 700 applications have been filed, “they are yet to be considered.”

The RUSADA has announced a contest for the vacancy of the director general, which has concluded on March 31. According to the terms of the contest, the director general was due to be named by April 14. The deadline has been extended until April 28 later. However, there is still no information about the director general.
