You're reading: Navalny’s brother brought to isolation cell

Opposition activist Alexey Navalny said that his brother Oleg, who was convicted as part of the Yves Rocher case and is serving his sentence in a penal colony in the Oryol region, has again been put in a punitive isolation cell.

“Oleg has again been put in an isolation cell. He was brought to the isolation ward because he stayed at the dining table after the alarm to go to bed,” Navalny wrote on Telegram.

The opposition activist is asking the Supreme Court to resume proceedings in the Yves Rocher case and release his brother from the penal colony now that a relevant European Court of Human Rights judgment has taken effect, Alexey Navalny’s lawyer, Olga Mikhailova, told Interfax earlier on March 20.
