You're reading: Nord Stream 2 signs pipeline construction contract with Allseas

MOSCOW – Nord Stream 2 AG, the project company for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, signed a contract with Allseas on April 6 for laying the offshore section of the pipeline, Nord Stream 2 said.

Both lines of the pipeline will be built in 2018 and 2019. The vessels Solitaire, Audacia and Pioneering Spirit (name changed from Pieter Schelte for political reasons) will be used the lay the pipeline. The Solitaire was also used to lay the Nord Stream gas pipeline in the Gulf of Finland.

Tender procedures, including for laying pipes in the coast wasters of Russia and Germany, are continuing, Nord Stream 2 said.
