You're reading: Putin: Foreign interest in Russian weapons growing

Demand for Russian weapons is on the rise in the world, in particular amid the ongoing special operation in Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“Interest in Russian weapons is growing; we see this not only from public political statements, but also from the volumes of contracts that we have executed and are executing, in particular, this happens owing to efficient application of our weapons in real combat conditions, including during the anti-terrorism operation in Syria,” Putin said at a meeting at the Saturn Research and Production Association on April 25.

At the same time, Putin said that defense enterprises producing ground weapons are being kept fully occupied with Russian Defense Ministry orders.

“Hence, it is more and more difficult to fulfill military-technical cooperation requests within the deadlines required,” the president said.

He ordered not to abandon export contracts but promote cooperation in this area.
