You're reading: Putin says deterioration of Russia-Ukraine relations not beneficial to anyone

Those in the West who believe that deterioration of Russia-Ukraine relations may be beneficial to anyone are wrong, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

“Some in the United States and some other countries are of the opinion that the worse Russia-Ukraine relations the better, as this is weakening Russia and hindering integration processes that may strengthen Russia in the economy and other fields,” Putin said at a plenary meeting of the International Arctic Forum.

“Let Russia sort out border affairs with its neighbors and stay away from global issues, such as Syria, the Middle East and others. This is a mistake. This is not to anyone’s advantage,” he said.
