Russia’s telecommunications regulator Roskomnadzor sent on December 17 letters to Facebook and Twitter in notifying the firms of the need to comply with the law on Russian user data localization in Russian territory, Roskomnadzor head Alexander Zharov told reporters on Tuesday.
“Yesterday, we sent letters to Twitter and Facebook. In 30 days, on January 17, we expect a legally meaningful reply,” Zharov said.
