You're reading: Rosstat: Russia boosts palm oil imports almost 13.5% in April

MOSCOW – Russia increased imports of palm oil and its fractions 13.5% year-on-year to 68,800 tonnes in April, Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported on Wednesday.

Imports in January-April declined by 9.7% to 265,000 tonnes, with the rate of decline significantly slowing down. In 3M 2017 palm oil imports declined 15.8%.

Imports of coconut oil and babassu oil rose 63.7% in April to 8,200 tonnes, and 17.6% to 28,300 tonnes in 4M 2017.

Sunflower, cottonseed, and saffron oil imports continued to grow significantly, with imports in 4M up 5.6-fold to 5,000 tonnes and imports in April alone up 5.1-fold to 1,900 tonnes.
