Russian plant and animal health service Rosselkhoznadzor is banning imports of peat from Dutch company Legro Mushroom Casing Solutions BV effective July 9 after finding product infested with Megaselia scalaris, a type of fly subject to quarantine in the Eurasian Economic Union, the watchdog said.

The infested peat arrived at the Russian border with phytosanitary certificates issued by the National Plant Protection Organization of the Netherlands, certifying that the product meets Russian phytosanitary standards.
