Russian and Iran will prepare a road map for the development of bilateral cooperation in the medium and long term, Mahmoud Vaezi, Iranian Communications and Information Technology Minister and co-chairman of the Russia-Iran intergovernmental commission, said during a meeting with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.

“In addition to bilateral documents, we are expecting to reach an agreement so that the presidents can sign a road map for our medium and long term cooperation,” he said.

Vaezi also said that he had, together with the Russian co-chairman of the of the Russia-Iran intergovernmental commission Alexander Novak, put the finishing touches to eight documents to be signed; work will continue on six documents.

“We have looked at the full range of our bilateral relations with Alexander Novak. We looked at list of documents which are expected to be signed. We have agreed that there are eight documents about which there are no problems, and six documents on which work is continuing,” Vaezi said.

“I held a meeting with colleagues in the Communications Ministry. We reached a very good agreement. As a result, we have a document which we expect to sign in the presence of the two presidents,” the Iranian communications minister said.

He said that there is a tendency for growth in development of trade relations, good tendencies have been noted in the development of inter-bank cooperation.
